Unlimited fun afternoon keeps rocking and rolling

05/11/2020

COVID-19 did not deter the No Limits Social Club from hosting a second joyful gathering for young people with impairments last Saturday afternoon. After a brief introduction, our 20 guests together with their families and 12 volunteers from the Order could barely contain their excitement while waiting for the fun to start.

Following up on a highly successful first event, Mya and Kayley of JustWork Hong Kong Ltd. specially created and led some exciting games for our guests.  Animal spirits let loose during the animal guessing game and friendly competition was at play during a very spirited “rock paper scissors” session.

The gathering was in full swing when the lights dimmed and Project Leader Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly doubled up as Master DJ spinning disco hits from the 80s.  Guest Catrin led the conga line in her dancing wheelchair and everyone followed Project Leader Sophie Mensdorff-Pouilly in her moves to disco classic YMCA.  All were in high spirits when we parted ways at 5pm.

First time joiners Mya and Kayley said, “it was such an amazing volunteering experience for us…. We hope to support the event again in the future.”  Thank you for your support Mya and Kayley, we look forward to seeing you at future events!

One of the guests, Simon said, “Thank you for inviting me.  I liked everything and the stone paper scissors game, singing and dancing were all my favourites”.
