Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2024 – Day One

The Order of Malta Hong Kong (OMHK) has again organized a Pilgrimage to Lourdes on 30 April – 8 May 2024. Mrs. Desiree Jebsen, President of OMHK, led a group of 3 members, 3 pilgrims, 6 volunteers, and, 2 malades (people with ailments) to embark on a journey from the Hong Kong Airport to Lourdes, France on 30 April. Another 9 volunteers joined the group directly in Lourdes. Although the journey was challenging with the delayed flight and problems in getting board on the connected flight for Pau, France, the group finally overcame the challenge together with one malade on wheelchair and one elderly lady to arrive the hotel in Lourdes safely on 1 May.

After the Welcome Dinner hosted together with the Australian and Korean team at the hotel, the team was ready for the exciting upcoming activities including Mass at the Grotto of Massabielle, Blessing of the Pilgrimage Candle, Healing Mass and, visiting the Baths, and many more.
