Celebration of the End of School Term
To celebrate the end of our first year of the Homework and Horizon Club, The Order of Malta Hong Kong jointly organized the Ceremony with Caritas on July 6, 2024, at the Saint Jude’s Church in North Point. Our students from Horizon Club sang a beautiful song, “Give Thanks!” dedicated to all teachers and volunteers. Following the Song Presentation, the students also prepared a skit for all the parents and guests.
At the Ceremony, our Project Leader, Marina Coghill, gave a speech. She said, “This year has been a great one, full of learning, craft, drama, sports and music. I am so proud of our students and their accomplishments over the year. I can say with great pride and satisfaction that each student has come in leaps and bounds with their English. Their confidence and teamwork skills are so much better than in last year’s September.”
She said, “This programme would not have been possible without our partners: Caritas Community Development Service, the De La Salle Brothers, and St. Jude’s Church. I know how much effort everyone has put into the project. Seeing how much the children have come on is a testament to everyone’s hard work. Thank you so much.
For the Horizon Club to work, we are grateful to have our club co-ordinator Clara and Cherie, and our dedicated volunteers who come every day to work with the children, ensuring that they get daily exposure to English and get to participate in games and activities with native English speakers.”
