Taking the students with SEN to visit The Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery

07/02/2024

Located behind Victoria Harbour, the Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery is a popular spot for photography and has a significant historical value for sea rescue service. Florence Wan, Project Leader, led a group of 14 volunteers from the Order of Malta Hong Kong to take 14 students of Caritas Lok Yi School and visit the Gallery on 3 February. The students were able to see the interior of the vessel and the unique firefighting artifacts.

The students were excited to stand on the deck of the fireboat, overlooking the 270-degree panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour. The walk inside the Quarry Bay Park was pleasant with some sea breeze and perfect weather on that day.  One of the students, Pak Hei, enjoyed using his laptop to help the students and volunteers take photographs against the stunning backdrop of the harbourfront.

Florence said, “We are also happy to have our members Deacon Thomas Wong and Annie Bligh joining us at the event.  We are also thrilled to receive an Appreciation Certificate from the School Principal, Chrysan Mok.”

Cherry, Assistant Warden, said, “Thanks the volunteer who joined and assisted the students to visit the Gallery so the students could gain some meaningful life experience and spend a joyful afternoon outdoor.”
