The Hong Kong Association of the Order of Malta Laptop Donation Campaign
It is estimated that the pandemic has resulted in almost a million kindergarten, primary, and secondary students being moved to online classes in the last 3 months. This transition has put students who cannot afford their own electronic devices at serious risk of being left behind academically.
In an effort to fill this gap, the Hong Kong Association of the Order of Malta launched the Laptop Donation Campaign last April. To date, 15 laptops and computers have been donated to the Caritas Ngau Tau Kok Center. Another 3 were delivered last week to the Caritas Lok Yi School, a boarding school for students with middle-level to severe intellectual disabilities.
Ms. Antonia Chan, the Caritas Lok Yi School Warden, said, “Our students were very happy to see those laptops given to them. Now they can have access to the advanced technology world. We would like to express our appreciation to the volunteers who continuously remember and support our students.”
Please join our drive. We welcome laptops, desktops and tablets, brand new as well as previously loved. Help us enable all students to keep up with their learning beyond the physical classroom.
