Our special dedication to all parents
There is no love greater than that of a parent for their child. Being a parent can be a challenging yet very gratifying task. Last 1 June, we wanted to celebrate the parents of the Caritas Lok Yi School, who work tirelessly to offer the best for their children, by partnering with the school with a special program on zoom.
Volunteer Carol Choy kicked off the program by playing a matching game of 15 picture slides with the SEN students and asked them to identify the roles of father and mother in the images. The students raced to answer the questions as in the tie is for dad and the handbag is for mom. After several fun games, volunteer Grace Lu used different cartoons to show the students how they can help lighten the daily chores of their parents. The children listened closely and participated enthusiastically in the story-telling and the Q&A sessions that followed.
The event ended on a high note with a mini-concert featuring singing and dancing. Our Project Leader Vivian Mock was DJ for the day with a careful selection of songs of appreciation for the parents and dance music to get everyone jiving. The students transformed their classroom into a mini dance floor and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The 45 minutes flew by and we all can’t wait for the next event in July.
