No Limits Social Club organizes a fun dance workshop
Dancing is an enjoyable activity loved by everyone – from toddlers to 80 years old seniors to young people with disabilities. Our young guests especially love dancing because it allows them to freely express pent-up emotions, break barriers and create social connections. Bearing all these positive attributes in mind, Hospitaller and Project Leader Sophie Mensdorff invited a team of professional dancers to lead a dance workshop last 11 February.
Dance Instructor Andy and his assistant Frankie warmed up our guests and volunteers by asking each one to use body movements to introduce themselves. This was followed by moving to different percussion instruments. By now, the group had loosened up enough to express themselves through bigger movements. Andy and Frankie continued with teaching new finger, arm and leg dance moves. That afternoon, dance and music proved to be a powerful way to engage our guests and volunteers in developing new special bonds.
Guest parent Corinna said, “I am so grateful to the volunteers who are so passionate. The dance instructors were excellent at engaging everyone. As reflected by the name of the project, there is really no limit for my child and her friends, including me as a parent, in joining the activities!”
Another parent remarked after the event, “Hiu Lum enjoyed the dancing with you all very much! She couldn‘t stop smiling all the way home.”
