New School Term Ceremony

13/09/2021

Last 29 August 2021, the Flying Young Program – Computer Club got some children off to a strong start in the new school year. Committee members, Hugo Wong and Dylan Kwong hosted a ceremony for young students to gift them with Study Packs containing a drawing kit, sketch book, basic stationery and a Casio calculator.

Over 70 parents and children attended the ceremony where they were joined by program tutor, Mia Lam who explained the contents of the Study Packs and the lesson plan for the coming year. Mia highlighted the importance of the scientific calculator which is a requirement for public examinations in Hong Kong.

Monica Li, Senior Social Worker of the Caritas Community Center-Ngau Tau Kok, said “we were surprised to see the great turn out by the families at today’s event. It is evidence of the high demand for additional and often unaffordable resources needed to support their children’s education in a competitive education system.”
