Fra’ Marco Luzzago elected Lieutenant of the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta
Fra’ Marco Luzzago was elected this morning with a large majority Lieutenant of the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Italian, 70 years old, was admitted in 1975 and has been a Professed in the Order of Malta since 2003.
The newly elected head of the Sovereign Order of Malta will swear before the Pope’s Special Delegate, cardinal-designate Silvano Maria Tomasi and the members of the Council Complete of State this afternoon.
The Council Complete of State, the electoral body, met on 7 and 8 November in the Magistral Villa in Rome
Fra’ Marco Luzzago succeeds Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, Prince and 80th Grand Master, who died on 29 April last.
