Game Day for students with special education needs
On a rainy day, the best activity for the students with special education needs from the Caritas Lok Yi School would be doing some indoor games. Twenty volunteers from the Hong Kong Association of the Order of Malta played three fun games such as ball games, scavenger hunts, and guessing games on 19 March.
Many of our foreign volunteers don’t speak Cantonese, but they found no difficulties communicating and interacting with the students, who often responded with a lovely smile and joyful reactions. Our volunteers also tried their best to assist the students in enjoying the games and snacks prepared by the school’s staff.
Although the games were similar to those games we played in our childhood times, our volunteers and the students enjoyed playing together. Instantly the room was filled with so much laughter. We all look forward to the next event on April 2.
