Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, a member of the Order of Malta, who is elected as the New Pope and the successor of Saint Peter

Fra’ John T. Dunlap, Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, declared: “We welcome with profound gratitude the election of the new Holy Father, Successor of St. Peter and universal leader of the Catholic Church. In this moment of grace for the faithful, I express, on behalf of the Sovereign Order of Malta, our filial devotion and complete adherence to the Pope’s new Magisterium. We are deeply honoured to have welcomed the then-Cardinal as a member of our Order, a bond we see as a sign of profound spiritual connection. We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide his pontificate, granting him strength and wisdom in his sacred mission. The Order, steadfast in its religious vocation and humanitarian calling, pledges its unwavering support to the Holy Father in defending human dignity, serving the poor, and promoting peace.”

Mrs. Desiree Jebsen, President of the Hong Kong Association of the Order of Malta, stated: “On behalf of the Hong Kong Association of the Order of Malta, we rejoice in the election of Pope Leo XIV, the 267th Pope and Bishop of Rome. We express our heartfelt gratitude for his appointment as the Successor of St. Peter.
