Art Workshop for Flying Young Children
All children love to draw and our Flying Young children are no exception in wanting to express their creativity through art. Last 26 March, ten volunteers of the Order of Malta Hong Kong organized an art workshop for 25 children on March 26 under the guidance of Ms Emily Hill, an art teacher from a well-known International School.
Each child was provided with their own set of drawing materials including a canvas, a paint brush and an apron. Emily demonstrated how to draw an Easter bunny while at the same time encouraging the children to freely design their own bunnies and backgrounds. Our volunteers busily ran around distributing paint tubes and assisting the children in mixing the different colours.
After the children had finished, we invited some of them to share their drawings. Student Paco drew our volunteer, Antonia, explaining that: “Because Antonia helped me so I wanted to thank her by giving her this portrait of her!” One of the parents said, “Thank you to the Order of Malta Hong Kong for the fun afternoon and giving the children a chance to learn about art and painting.”
