2025 Chinese New Year Celebration with Flying Seniors

Celebrating Chinese New Year is important to many seniors. It is more than just a festive occasion; it’s a powerful reminder of the community and family values. To embrace the traditional value of this festival, Flying Seniors Leaders, Ambrose Ng and Teresa Lo designed some activities to celebrate with elderly friends. OnFebruary 25, We also invited our volunteers and students from Raimondi College to host and play exciting games with the 16 elderly friends.
Using only some paper cups and rubber balls, we created two competitive and exciting games for the elderly friends. Our volunteers and the students assisted the elderly friends to participate in the games which unleashed their champion and sporty spirits. Besides the games, the Q&A session about the facts of the Year of Snake also brought a trip down memory lane and reconnected us to the heritage rich in tales and tradition. Finally, Teresa also taught us to create heart-shaped cutouts from colourful paper. It was fun to see everyone trying their best to design their beautiful cutouts. Last but not least, the students helped presenting some coupons from a Chinese Bakery Shop to the elderly friends and wished them a Blessed and Happy Year of the Snake!
