Students with SEN exploring jofully in the Park
Admiring the moon from afar is always a tradition during Mid-Autumn Festival. To continue the spirit, Project Leader Florence Wan together with OMHK Hospitaller Sophie Mensdorff-Pouilly brought along 10 volunteers to Caritas Lok Yi School and accompanied the students to the park in Sai Wan Ho on 25 September. The mission of the team was to explore in the park and try their best to find the moon in the sky. Although it would be hard to find full moon among the clouds, the students from Caritas Lok Yi School were excited be able to go outside.
To prepare the students to recognize different shapes of moon, Tim Sir of the School prepared round shape of cardboards for the students to make the moon and taught them the names of the moon at different stage. Then our volunteers paired up with the students and marching to the park together.
Although they couldn’t find the moon in the sky, some students were showing their bright smile to us on the way back. One of the students, Kim, was still holding the hand of our volunteer, Davina, and wanted to bring her back to the room. We assisted them to go to their bedrooms and bidden our good-bye to them. It was such a sweet and joyful evening for all of us.
