Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration for young people with disabilities

On October 4, 2025, Project Leaders Alfons and Sophie Mensdorff-Pouilly guided eight volunteers in hosting a vibrant Mid-Autumn Festival event for 17 young people with disabilities. For the fourth times, Expressive Arts Specialist Derek Lum led an engaging Expressive Arts Workshop, empowering participants to express their emotions through creative methods.
The workshop began with warm-up exercises, followed by an activity where participants used paper to create diverse sounds, channeling their emotions through these auditory expressions. Afterward, they transformed torn paper into collaborative artwork on a long sheet. Some crafted nature scenes with mountains and rivers, others depicted rainbows or cheerful musical notes, resulting in a collective masterpiece infused with creativity and joy.
During a break, Sophie served delicious snacks and traditional mooncakes, delighting everyone. The event concluded with lively disco music filling the room, sparking energetic dancing and foot-tapping fun. Participants left with smiles, having fully enjoyed the music, dance, and shared creativity.
