Christmas Celebration for young people with disabilities in Mui Wo

17/12/2025

On December 13, 2025, project leaders of No Limits Social Club Alfons and Sophie Mensdorff-Pouilly guided eleven volunteers in hosting a joyful Christmas outing for eleven young people with disabilities in Mui Wo, Lantau Island.

The activities took place at Mindful Garden, led by hosts Tom and Karlyn. Tom began with a brief introduction and tour of the garden. As everyone explored, a herd of water buffaloes unexpectedly appeared and mingled peacefully with the group. Some guests and volunteers picked leaves to feed them, adding to the delight.

After this spontaneous excitement, Tom lit a bonfire and led a soil workshop. He explained how leftover food and unwanted ingredients could be composted in a large container to create natural fertilizer over time. The group then designed and potted their own plants to take home.
Following a short break, Karlyn guided everyone in using recycled materials to craft musical instruments. With their creations ready, a musician joined to play Christmas songs, prompting the group to sing along and dance with enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Alfons and Sophie fired up the barbecue, grilling sausages and sweet potatoes for a delicious lunch enjoyed by all. Before heading back to Hong Kong Island, the group visited Silvermine Bay Beach for a relaxing stroll.

Volunteer Brandon shared, “This was my first time in Mui Wo, and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery very much.”
