Local Pilgrimage organised for the 4th times in Shum Chung Village

For four consecutive years, we have organized a meaningful Local Pilgrimage to Shum Chung Village—a remote, historic Hakka village in Sai Kung—for our members, volunteers, and the malades on October 31, 2025. This year, Project Leader Marco Bovolini guided a team of 15 volunteers to support four malades, one wheelchair-bound and three students with special educational needs, on this enriching journey.
After a leisurely one-hour walk from Yung Shue O Public Parking Lot, we arrived at the serene and picturesque Shum Chung Village. Following tradition, we began with the Stations of the Cross at the newly renovated Epiphany of Our Lord Chapel. Taking turns reading the scriptures created a solemn and reflective moment for all.
Immediately afterward, Father Peter Choy, VG celebrated Mass. We joyfully participated by reading the scriptures and singing hymns together.
To recharge everyone, we enjoyed an authentic Hakka lunch at a local restaurant in the village. After the walk, dining with views of the chapel and lush grasslands provided a truly refreshing experience.
We look forward to welcoming more volunteers and malades to future pilgrimages, including our upcoming trip to Lourdes from April 27 to May 5, 2026. Stay tuned for more updates!
