Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2024

Every year, millions of pilgrims travel to Lourdes, France to pray and seek healing. Going to Lourdes at least once is a traditional obligation for members of the Order of Malta. Aspirants to the Order are encouraged to make the pilgrimage, and many do. In keepingwith the Order’s long-standing tradition of serving the sick, our members and volunteers will accompany maladies (people with mild ailments) to Lourdes. We will take care of all of the needs of our Malades including all their meals, daily masses and prayers, visiting the baths and shopping in Lourdes. To ensure a high standard of health and safety throughout the journey, all members and volunteers will be required to complete a basic nursing training course.

The dates are:

Departure Hong Kong 30th of April 2024 evening
Return Hong Kong 8th May 2023 morning

The time in Lourdes will be from the 1st to the 7th May 2024

What are we going to do in Lourdes?

You will meet members and chaplains from 50 countries, experiencing the Order’s spirituality at itsglobal best. However, if you plan to take a Malade to Lourdes, please inform us: info@orderofmalta.org.hk

Lourdes Pilgrimage includes:

  • International Masses
  • Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction
  • The Lourdes Bath
  • Candlelight Marian Procession
  • Grotto of the Blessed Virgin Mary

As always, we will stay at the Hotel Jeanne d’Arc where the Cassin family has been receiving us every year with great kindness, making their hotel our home away from home.
